What inspires me as a filmmaker is telling stories of real human beings fighting to overcome large, identifiable challenges in a way that allows an audience to feel, think and be entertained

The size of the budget need only be in service of the story. I’ve been able to make award- winning films for the cost of a single day’s catering budget on a studio film. Through determination and a passionate vision, I have been able to take any limitations and make them stimulation for creative output. In the end, contemporary technology allows us to view a film on our phone or an Imax screen. But the same questions need to be asked: Is the story compelling? Does it say something about the world we live in? Does it give room to see oneself in the story? If so, then it doesn’t matter the final size of the screen because the human experience will be the common thread.
