Training

What separates Paul Kampf Studios is the commitment to turn training into real experiences. Participants in the studio have worked in front of and behind the camera on projects with budgets ranging from $500 to $10M. The size of the budget does not dictate the quality of the work.

We know that a short film has as much value for the professional in training as any multi-million dollar feature film. In fact, the projects that have limitations provide the most ‘stimulation’ for creative growth and ingenuitive thinking.

Paul Kampf Studios first launched its approach with a group of 8 dedicated actors committing to a micro budget featurette. With less than $20K, the project was rehearsed, planned and executed with a four day physical shoot.

Most importantly, it provided the inspiration for a long-term approach that has led to over a dozen feature films in three different countries and thirty short films while providing opportunities for over 120 actors in those films that garnered over fourty awards.

Every actor that starts training begins with a short, intense, one-on-one process directly with Paul via Zoom or in person if schedules permit. This allows both Paul and the actor to assess if the process is a good mutual fit. There is no benefit to the actor to pay for on-going training unless the benefit of the work is evident.

Paul’s approach focuses on each actor’s unique instrument, and strengthens the connection between imagination and physical experience. By providing high level, effective techniques, the actor then can start immediately adding real tools to their craft.

One of our most essential beliefs is that the artist must not wait for others to create opportunities. It is essential to maximize one’s talents in whatever areas one desires, and then let real experience teach you the essential lessons.

Failure is never a negative. It is a step towards personal and professional evolution.
